NWCOA Training Coordinator (posted 5/7/2026)

Job Overview:

The Training Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering educational content that supports NWCOA’s mission of advancing industry knowledge and best practices. This includes creating and presenting training materials for both in-person and online courses, coordinating with state agencies to secure approval for courses as credit towards professional licensing and CEUs, and ensuring that NWCOA’s training programs meet the needs of wildlife control operators across the nation. The Training Coordinator will work closely with internal teams, industry experts, and state licensing boards to deliver relevant, impactful, and accredited training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

While these Key Responsibilities represent the primary duties of the role, the Training Coordinator may be required to perform additional tasks as needed to support NWCOA’s operations, events, and strategic objectives.

Course Development & Content Creation:

Responsible for developing, organizing, and maintaining high-quality educational content for NWCOA training programs, including in-person and online courses. This includes creating engaging and interactive training materials—such as presentations, manuals, guides, and e-learning modules—while ensuring all content aligns with industry standards, reflects current laws and best practices, and meets NWCOA’s quality expectations.

Training Delivery:

Responsible for delivering engaging training sessions, webinars, and workshops for both live and virtual audiences, while facilitating interactive learning experiences that promote practical application. Provides ongoing participant support during and after training, and contributes to the expansion of NWCOA’s online training library.

Accreditation & Licensing:

Responsible for coordinating with state agencies to secure and maintain approval of NWCOA training programs for continuing education and licensing requirements. Ensures all courses meet CEU standards and regulatory compliance, while maintaining an up-to-date understanding of state licensing requirements and approval processes.

Collaboration & Partnerships:

Responsible for collaborating with industry experts, wildlife control professionals, and regulatory agencies to develop accurate and relevant training content. Builds and maintains strategic relationships to support the growth and recognition of NWCOA’s educational programs, while identifying opportunities for new partnerships and expanded training offerings.

Program Evaluation & Improvement:

Responsible for collecting and analyzing participant feedback and training data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Implements updates to enhance training materials and delivery methods, and prepares reports on outcomes and performance for NWCOA leadership and stakeholders.

Administrative & Logistical Support:

Responsible for coordinating logistics for in-person training events in collaboration with the Event Coordinator and office staff, including venue selection, materials, and registration management. Oversees the scheduling and delivery of online training programs, ensuring smooth technical execution, and maintains accurate records of registrations, completions, and accreditation details.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • ·       Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, Wildlife Management, instructional design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • ·       Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, training coordination, or educational content development.
  • ·       Experience in the wildlife control industry, or a related field, is preferred but not required.
  • ·       Knowledge of licensing, CEU requirements, and accreditation processes is highly desirable.

Skills & Abilities:

  • ·       Strong instructional design skills, with experience creating and presenting training content for both in-person and online formats.
  • ·       Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage and educate a diverse audience.
  • ·       Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
  • ·       Knowledge of e-learning platforms and technologies (e.g., Zoom, LMS systems, video production tools) is a plus.
  • ·       Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • ·       Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • ·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other training software (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate).

Position Overview

The National Wildlife Control Operators Association (NWCOA) is seeking a Public Policy Director to lead all advocacy, legislative, and regulatory efforts impacting the wildlife control industry nationwide. This role is responsible for protecting the tools, methods, and professional standards of wildlife control operators through proactive engagement with regulators, lawmakers, and industry partners.

This position is critical to the long-term sustainability of the industry and serves as NWCOA’s primary voice in public policy.

Core Responsibilities

1.       Advocacy & Legislative Strategy

Lead monitoring and analysis of state and federal legislation, rulemaking, and regulatory actions affecting wildlife control professionals.

Develop and execute NWCOA’s national advocacy strategy in coordination with the Advocacy Committee and Board of Directors.

Serve as primary liaison to state agencies, wildlife commissions, and licensing boards.

Coordinate legislative days, commission attendance, readiness summits, and other advocacy events.

2. Policy Development & Communications

Draft all official policy responses, testimony, regulatory comments, letters, and advocacy position statements.

Maintain issue tracking systems, deadlines, and advocacy outcome records.

Provide finalized regulatory interpretation and guidance to the Training Coordinator for curriculum development.

3. Fundraising & Defense Fund Management

Oversee all fundraising efforts related to the Wildlife Control Defense Fund.

Design and manage donor campaigns, outreach strategies, and reporting systems.

Track fundraising performance and provide regular updates to the Board.

4. Committee & Organizational Leadership

Lead and manage the Advocacy Committee including scheduling, agenda development, meeting facilitation, and documentation.

Build and maintain relationships with coalition partners, allied organizations, and industry stakeholders.

Provide advocacy training and resources to members and state leaders.

Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in public policy, advocacy, government relations, or regulatory affairs.
    • Strong understanding of nonprofit or trade association operations.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage complex issues across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Self-starter capable of working independently with high accountability.
    • Willingness to travel for legislative sessions, commission meetings, and advocacy events.
